Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wedding: Stephanie & Andrew

If you are searching for an honest Hotel Xcaret Mexico wedding review from a real couple, you have come to the right place. Initially, Stephanie and Andrew had their hearts set on a completely different resort. When that first choice fell through, everything changed. Fortunately, it turned out to be one of the best things that could have happened. Their Hotel Xcaret Mexico wedding on January 26, 2025 was nothing short of magical. Their 65 guests loved it so much they are already talking about going back.

Keep reading for a full inside look at their wedding weekend. From a breathtaking jungle ceremony at Explanada Cerro Xpiral to an LED dance floor that turned the reception into a full dance party, this wedding has it all. Additionally, we are sharing everything couples need to know before booking, including the unique room block rules that make having a travel agent absolutely essential.

Why Stephanie & Andrew Chose a Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wedding

Choosing the right resort for a destination wedding is one of the most important decisions a couple can make. In Stephanie and Andrew’s case, their decision came with an unexpected twist. Their original resort fell through, and consequently they needed a new plan fast. That is where Bridie Travel stepped in.

As a destination wedding specialist, I have personally site visited Hotel Xcaret Mexico multiple times and had the pleasure of dining there. The food is genuinely top notch. Furthermore, the property itself is unlike anything else in the Riviera Maya. It is lush, dramatic, and deeply rooted in Mexican culture and nature. Stephanie summed it up perfectly in her review: the hotel was so beautiful that their guests want to go back. Indeed, that is the highest praise a resort can receive.

It is also worth noting upfront: Hotel Xcaret Mexico is not a beach resort. As a result, it is not the right fit for every couple. However, for those looking for something truly different, something that goes far beyond the typical all-inclusive experience, it is absolutely one of a kind.

What Makes a Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wedding Truly Unique

Hotel Xcaret Mexico is unlike any other resort in the Riviera Maya. Here is what sets it apart for couples planning a destination wedding:

A Jungle Setting Like No Other Hotel Xcaret Wedding Venue

The resort is nestled within a lush jungle landscape. Every venue feels like it was carved directly out of nature. Stephanie and Andrew’s ceremony took place at Explanada Cerro Xpiral, a breathtaking open-air venue at the base of the resort’s chapel. It is surrounded by tropical greenery and natural beauty. In particular, the natural backdrop makes for absolutely stunning wedding photos that no ballroom or beach setup can replicate.

Multiple Venues for Every Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wedding Event

One of the standout features of a Hotel Xcaret Mexico wedding is the variety of stunning venues available across the property. Stephanie and Andrew’s weekend spanned multiple locations:

  • Welcome Drinks: Playon Espiral, a gorgeous oceanside gathering spot
  • Rehearsal & Rehearsal Dinner: Las Cuevas, an intimate cave venue exclusive to the bridal party
  • Wedding Ceremony: Explanada Cerro Xpiral, at the base of the resort chapel surrounded by jungle
  • Reception & After Party: Grand Ballroom followed by La Cantina for the after party

The Food at a Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wedding Is Exceptional

Having dined at Hotel Xcaret Mexico myself, I can say without hesitation that the food is top notch. This is not standard resort buffet fare. The culinary experience here is genuinely impressive, and it shows in the wedding catering as well. For couples who prioritize food quality for their guests, this resort consistently delivers. Plus, they have the best chilaquiles I’ve ever had!

All-Fun Inclusive: More Than Just a Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wedding

Unlike traditional all-inclusive resorts, Hotel Xcaret Mexico operates as an All-Fun Inclusive. This means every guest’s stay includes unlimited access to Xcaret parks and tours throughout the Riviera Maya. As a result, guests are not simply attending a wedding weekend. They are experiencing snorkeling, underground rivers, cultural shows, and adventure activities all included in their stay. For couples researching an Xcaret Mexico all inclusive wedding, this park access is one of the biggest draws of the entire property. For couples with guests who love to explore, this is a genuinely unmatched offering.

What Every Couple Must Know Before Booking a Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wedding

Here is where a Hotel Xcaret Mexico wedding is different from almost every other resort. The room block structure is unique, and it catches many couples completely off guard when they try to navigate it alone. This is precisely why working with a travel agent is not optional. It is essential.

Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wedding Room Block Requirements

Hotel Xcaret Mexico and Hotel Xcaret Arte, the adults-only sister property for guests 16 and up, both require a minimum number of rooms in your room block based on your wedding day. Additionally, each room must be booked for a minimum of three nights. Here is what you need to know:

  • Sunday through Thursday wedding: Minimum of 11 rooms required in your room block
  • Friday wedding: Minimum of 20 rooms required in your room block
  • Saturday wedding: Minimum of 25 rooms required in your room block

How the Two Contracts Work at a Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wedding

One of the most important things to understand about a Hotel Xcaret Mexico wedding is that there are two separate contracts. First, you sign the room contract to secure your guest rooms and ensure availability for your wedding date. Once that is deposited and signed, you then sign the wedding contract to officially lock in your wedding date. Hotel Xcaret will hold your wedding date while you work through the room contract. In short, the two contracts go hand in hand and are both essential steps in the process.

Furthermore, there are additional rules that couples must fully understand before signing. This is precisely where having a travel agent makes all the difference:

  • You cannot hold more rooms than needed. If you are expecting 50 guests, you can only hold 25 rooms. You can always add more rooms later as long as availability allows.
  • You are responsible for the guest count in your wedding contract. If your guest count falls short of the minimum, you are still financially responsible for those guests you originally agreed to.
  • You can release unused rooms. However, you will still be held responsible for the guests you originally contracted for in your wedding contract. Understanding this distinction upfront is absolutely critical.

Additionally, dining and park reservations must be made prior to arrival since they book up extremely fast. At Bridie Travel, we provided all 65 of Stephanie and Andrew’s guests with a comprehensive guide covering the resort and the parks. We also helped facilitate their reservations so that no guest arrived without a full understanding of what to expect. Consequently, everyone could enjoy every moment of their stay from the very first day.

When It Rained on Their Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wedding Day

Every couple worries about rain on their wedding day. For Stephanie and Andrew, that worry became a reality. It rained on January 26, 2025. Nevertheless, their wedding was amazing, magical, and beautiful. Those are the exact three words Stephanie used to describe it.

The skies cleared just in time for the ceremony at Explanada Cerro Xpiral. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by jungle greenery and their 65 closest family and friends. Subsequently, when the rain returned, the reception moved indoors to the ballroom. Far from being a setback, the move turned out to be a genuine blessing. The ballrooms at Hotel Xcaret Mexico are some of the nicest I have seen at any resort. Combined with the LED dance floor Stephanie had splurged on, the space transformed into exactly the electric, club-like atmosphere she had always envisioned.

In fact, Stephanie’s favorite memory from her entire wedding day was dancing nonstop with their closest family and friends until it was time to go. Their first dance song was Yellow by Coldplay, and the energy never stopped from there.

What Stephanie Said About Her Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wedding Experience

Looking for Hotel Xcaret Mexico reviews from real couples? Here is what Stephanie had to say after returning home. Without a doubt, her words say it all:

“Megan and her team are amazing! She helped us decide on our resort for our destination wedding after the first choice fell through. We didn’t regret it at all since the hotel was so beautiful that our guests want to go back! Megan and Cara helped organize our wedding website, book our guests’ rooms and their transportation from airport to hotel, and helped our guests with any questions and requests they had. What was amazing was also how responsive they were throughout the whole process. This took a huge load off our shoulders! Booking Bridie Travel was one of the best decisions we made after deciding on a destination wedding.”

Stephanie also noted that booking a travel agent and a local wedding planner were non-negotiables for her and Andrew’s sanity. Indeed, for a resort as unique and logistically detailed as Hotel Xcaret Mexico, that advice could not be more accurate.
