While you’ll often find me with a glass of rosé, it’ll be a mug of delicious coffee if you catch me in the morning! If you and your partner are coffee connoisseurs, you may wonder where you can go on your honeymoon to sample some of the world’s best. Look no further! As a travel advisor, I’ve touched down all over the globe and identified these top three spots as the best honeymoon destinations for coffee lovers.
Honeymoon Destinations for Coffee Lovers
Costa Rica: Coffee and Chocolate Tours
Costa Rica is world-renowned for its incredible Arabica beans. In fact, it’s illegal to produce any type of coffee other than 100% Arabica coffee. It’s known for its bright acidity, clean flavor profile, and flavor variety. Meanwhile, Costa Rica generally is known for its commitment to sustainability. Many of its farms are organic farms!
Costa Rica is also known for its cacao bean production. Its famous cacao tours give visitors insight into the chocolate-making process, from bean to bar.
If you’re a Starbucks lover, don’t miss Hacienda Alsacia. It’s Starbucks’ first and only coffee farm where you can tour the grounds, taste local cuisine, and of course, sample lots of coffee! Get more information and book your tour here.

Jamaica: Blue Mountain Coffee
While there are many reasons to have your destination wedding in Jamaica, it’s also one of the top honeymoon destinations for coffee lovers! Blue Mountain Coffee is one of the most sought-after and expensive coffees globally. Grown in Jamaica’s Blue Mountains, the unique climate and altitude contribute to its distinct flavor. The Blue Mountains are one of the highest-altitude areas in the Caribbean, so it’s significantly cooler and rains most afternoons. If you visit, don’t forget to bring a waterproof jacket!
The area is also a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Only coffee grown between 3,000 and 5,500 feet in elevation can be classified as Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, while any grown below 3,000 feet is Jamaica High Mountain Coffee.
If you visit in March, you can attend the Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival! You can also tour multiple coffee estates in the Blue Mountains any time of year, including the Clifton Mount Estate and Old Tavern Estate, to learn about the cultivation and processing of Blue Mountain Coffee. In addition, there are several great coffee shops you can visit. Some of my favorites include The Gap, Cafe Blue (they serve exclusively Blue Mountain Coffee and boast incredible mountain views!), and Cannonball Cafe.
Hawaii: Royal Kona Coffee
Hawaii is best known for its world-renowned Kona Coffee! The Kona Coffee Belt is a narrow strip on the western side of the Big Island on the slopes of Mauna Loa. The coffee has a smooth, mild flavor profile with a hint of nuttiness and a slightly fruity aroma. Workers hand-pick the coffee cherries, ensuring they only harvest the ripest beans!
Consider touring Greenwell Farms, where visitors can explore the coffee orchards, witness the processing of coffee beans, and sample different Kona Coffee roasts. Heavenly Hawaiian and Hula Daddy also host in-depth tours of their farms. Then, head for a delicious cup of Kona Coffee at Coffee Shack or Kona Coffee & Tea.
