If you’re planning a destination wedding in Mexico, you’re probably looking for a gorgeous, all-inclusive, private resort where your guests can fully relax. But here’s the deal: one or more of your guests is not yet 18, which excludes them from many adult-only resorts. The solution? A family-friendly resort in Mexico that feels adult-only.
Is this even possible? Well, when you work with Bridie Travel, it is! As a destination wedding travel specialist, I have a list of family-friendly resorts in Mexico that allow young guests to attend without making your destination wedding feel like a kid’s birthday party.
So, if there will be kids at your destination wedding, but you not-so-secretly wanted an adult-only resort, this blog is for you!
The Best All-Inclusive, Family-Friendly Resorts In Mexico That Feel Adult-Only
Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres
Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres is an all-inclusive resort just north of Cancun, and it’s one of my favorite finds for couples who want that adult-only feel without actually excluding anyone from the guest list.
About 80% of the resort falls under the Elegance Club, an adults-only section reserved for guests 18 and up. So while the resort welcomes families, the majority of the property still has that quiet, elevated, grown-up atmosphere. Your guests with kids can stay in the family-friendly sections, while everyone else enjoys the Elegance Club’s pools, restaurants, and beach areas.
It’s a great option if you love the idea of an adult-only resort but need the flexibility to include younger guests in your celebration.

Hotel Xcaret Mexico
Hotel Xcaret Mexico may be my favorite family-friendly resort in Mexico! Located in Quintana Roo, Hotel Xcaret Mexico offers over 900 suites for couples and families, access to amusement parks, and world-class dining experiences.
And the best part? Certain buildings in the resort are reserved for adults only. This means you can enjoy time with family members of all ages during your rehearsal and ceremony, but reserve your wedding reception in an adult-only building.
Hotel Xcaret Mexico gives you the best of both worlds! It’s a wonderful family-friendly resort with adult-only spaces for you to relax and enjoy. Read this blog to hear a first-hand account from a Bridie Travel client who stayed at Hotel Xcaret Mexico!

Secrets Playa Mujeres & Dreams Playa Mujeres
Looking for a family-friendly resort in Mexico with an adult-only resort close by? Look no further! Only 25 minutes from the Cancun International Airport, these two resorts will meet the needs of all your destination wedding guests.
Secrets Playa Mujeres (adult only) just finished a complete resort-wide overhaul, and it’s better than ever. The renovation touched nearly everything: updated pools, refreshed restaurants, fully renovated rooms, and a brand new Preferred Club building with its own beach club and infinity pool. It’s still known for its 9 restaurants, 7 bars, and luxurious accommodations, but now with an even more polished, elevated feel.
To have a family-friendly destination wedding in Mexico, most of your guests could stay at Secrets, while guests with children can stay at Dreams! To include young guests, your wedding celebrations must be hosted by Dreams. But don’t worry! You will have plenty of kid-friendly time to relax when you return to Secrets!

Hyatt Ziva Cancun
If you want all of your guests to stay at the same resort, I recommend Hyatt Ziva Cancun. This all-inclusive, family-friendly resort in Cancun, Mexico will give guests of all ages a luxurious experience.
Scattered throughout the resort are adult-only sections of the grounds, entire buildings, and pools! The Turquoise Tower is reserved for guests over 18 years old. The tower has a DJ station, rooftop bar, and incredible views of the turquoise Caribbean water!

See, not only is it possible to find an adult-feeling family-friendly resort in Mexico, but it can be easy, too!
