Brooke and Lesley overcame COVID restrictions and last-minute rain showers to have such a beautiful wedding at Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay! As their destination wedding planner, I arranged travel and lodging for them and their guests to ensure a smooth experience.
Secrets Wild Orchid is one of my favorite resorts in Jamaica! It’s an adult-only property located just fifteen minutes from the airport. Not to mention, the views of the lush mountains in the distance are stunning! I’m so glad I could help Brooke and Lesley coordinate their wedding here, and I’m thrilled to be sharing some of the highlights from this special day.
Planning a Destination Wedding During a Pandemic
Brooke and Lesley’s wedding day was intimate, with just 35 close family members and friends in attendance (though don’t let that number fool you—everyone still knew how to get their party on!). A few guests canceled last minute due to COVID concerns, but that didn’t stop the newlyweds from having the time of their lives. They even ended their wedding day with a splash by jumping into the pool with their bridal party—suits, dresses, and all!
The flexibility of this couple blew me away. Despite shifting travel restrictions and a pile of authorization forms they needed to fill out before their departure to Jamaica, they were adaptable and gracious all the way through. In addition, Brooke learned just before the wedding day that Jamaica had restricted beauticians from applying makeup during the pandemic. Undeterred, she made a last-minute pivot and asked her sister to apply her makeup.
Rain also made a surprise appearance on the couple’s wedding day. While the conditions forced them to move their reception to the resort’s ballroom, there was just enough time for their beachside ceremony to take place as planned! Plus, the couple had plenty of time to explore the beach with their photographer, Emily Brock, in between events.
Bridal Portraits at Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay
The portraits from this wedding day are some of the most stunning I’ve ever seen! After their ceremony, Brooke and Lesley snagged some shots with their bridal party walking down the beach. Then, they spent some one-on-one time with their photographer for their couple’s portraits. They explored the white sandy beach as the sun began to set. The light shimmered off the water and gave them a gorgeous glow! But the highlight was the Jamaican mountains in the background. They gave every shot a lush, tropical feel.
Congratulations to Brooke and Lesley for tying the knot at Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay! I adore this venue and can’t wait to work with them again. Kind Words From the Bride
Megan was phenomenal and an integral part of making our wedding so perfect! She went above and beyond every step of the way. By getting to know us as a couple, she exceeded our expectations for our destination wedding and honeymoon. She did everything, from helping us pick a location within our budget to coordinating travel documentation for everyone coming to our wedding. There were a few last-minute changes due to COVID, but Megan was always responsive and attentive to our group. I know our wedding would not have been as smooth without all of her help and guidance.
I will forever use Megan for our future travel arrangements, and I highly recommend her to all of my friends looking to travel. Thirty-five guests attended our destination wedding, and every single one of them applauded how seamless the travel experience was. Everyone knew exactly where to go and what they needed. If you’re considering Megan for your travel arrangements or your destination wedding, reach out immediately. You will not be disappointed!
