The ULTIMATE Safe Resort Checklist
Ready for a vacation, but not quite sure what precautions your resort should be taking to protect the health and safety of its guests while traveling during COVID?
Well, fear not – I’ve compiled a handy little checklist you can use as a guide before booking your next trip:
INCREASED CLEANING
Increased Cleaning ✅
This probably goes without saying, but any resort you stay with should have top-notch standards when it comes to cleaning. Be sure the resort frequently cleans and sanitizes public spaces, such as the lobby, front desk, and public bathrooms.
HAND SANitation stations
Hand Sanitation Stations ✅
Many resorts have installed hand sanitation stations throughout the property to encourage guests and staff to keep their hands clean.
temperature checkpoints
Temperature Checkpoints ✅
Temperature checks among guests and employees in high traffic areas have been implemented in many hotels to ensure everyone is healthy and well.
SOCIAL Distancing
Social Distancing ✅
Many properties are maintaining the proper social distancing guidelines – from service-only dining, to tape markers for crowd control. In fact, most resorts will only book at a 30% capacity – which means you’ll basically have the whole resort to yourself!
food safety
Food Safety ✅
In addition to less self-service options (sorry buffet-lovers!), resort dining establishments have completely re-designed the dining area so tables have plenty of spacing in between. They have also added shields at stations to protect food and reduced restaurant capacities to keep guests safe.
AIR FilTRATION
Air Filtration ✅
Hotels are working closely with companies who manage allergens to control air filtration and sanitation systems that disinfect the air.
RE-TRAINED STAFF
Re-Trained Staff ✅
Lastly, look for the properties that are educating their staff members on current policies and procedures – so they’re up to date and can easily assist guests!
cancel for any reason insurance
Another thing I highly recommend before you travel is “Cancel For Any Reason” or “Cancel Anytime” insurance. This type of coverage is typically an addendum and not automatically included in all plans. Make sure to ask me how to get it and what your policy includes.
My go-to insurance company is Allianz. You can read more about the two most popular plans I offer to all my clients. CLICK HERE to view more information.
