As a destination wedding travel advisor, I was so excited to work with Stephanie and Mike on their Caribbean destination wedding. The couple wanted their destination wedding to give their guests a vacation from the Chicago winter – without having to juggle the logistics themselves.
I was more than happy to jump in and navigate payments, schedules, and hotel room blocks. And dare I say, it was a weekend to remember. Stephanie and Mike’s guests gathered at the award-winning Casa De Campo Resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Over the wedding weekend, they enjoyed a welcome party on the private pool deck, a ceremony on a white sand beach, and a reception with Dominican dancers getting the party started with la Hora Loca!
Jewish Wedding Ceremony on Mintas Sunset Beach
The couple wanted a Jewish ceremony with a Chuppah, so we opted to set up the ceremony on Mintas Sunset Beach – a stunning, private, white-sand beach with calm, crystal blue water. Stephanie wore a strapless Martina Liana wedding gown with a cathedral-length veil that trailed behind her as she walked down the aisle.
Casa De Campo’s Mintas Sunset Beach was perfect for Stephanie, Mike, and their 69 guests. It was private and intimate, but large enough to accommodate a much bigger guest list (300, to be exact!).
Wedding Reception on Casa De Campo’s Sunset Beach
At Casa De Campo, destination wedding guests feast on a gourmet buffet served right on the beach! The white table settings were complimented by rich red and pink florals with lots of tropical greens.
As the sun dropped below the horizon, the music cranked up! After Stephanie and Mike’s first dance to I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith and Stephanie’s adorable dress change, the couple was joined by local Dominican dancers. At the end of the night, Stephanie’s favorite memory was her guests dancing alongside the Dominican dancers for La Hora Loca!
