After looking into the latter resort, I noticed several red flags. Their group rates were much higher than booking directly, and they were slow to answer questions. Moreover, they claimed they could only hold specific room categories and required a MUCH larger deposit than a typical room contract. Specifically, this resort wanted a $20,000 deposit, while Riu Palace Aruba wanted a $4,000 deposit (!!!).

The choice was clear, and I helped Nora and Tommy block off rooms at Riu Palace Aruba. I was so glad they had come to me, a destination wedding specialist, or they may have chosen the other resort and severely overspent on their deposit. The couple exchanged their vows on the beach and posed for some stunning sunset portraits afterward. Then, they partied the night away with their guests! It was such a fun and laidback day, and I was so happy to see them enjoying the destination wedding they’d dreamed of.
